The Congress of the United States and the State of Florida have recognized the
growing and imperative need for vocational education and have provided broader
concepts of vocational, career, and manpower education to prepare individuals
for the world of work; and
Through the increased emphasis in reaching out to prepare individuals to enter
employment, many new programs are now available to assist individuals in
reaching their occupational goals; and
The American Vocational Association, by representative assembly, has
established the second week of February as "Vocational Education Week" and
is supported by Florida vocational groups in this endeavor; and \
The ultimate success of this endeavor rests with every individual who is
concerned with providing training opportunities through a comprehensive
educational curriculum for all students; and
Vocational education serves secondary, postsecondary school youth, as
well as adults, in preparing them for occupations in agriculture, business
and office, marketing and distribution, vocational home economics,
trade and industries, health occupations, industrial arts, technical
education and through the efforts of vocational guidance and
counseling by assisting individuals to reach their occupational goals:
NOW, THEREFORE, I Leanne Grove, Mayor of the City of Winter Springs do hereby
proclaim February 7-13,1988 as VOCATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK in the City of
Winter Springs and urge all citizens of our great community to visit their local vocational
I" education schools and programs, thereby making themselves better acquainted with the
I' services offered by these dedicated institutions to the extent that each citizen can

benefit from these services.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and
caused the Seal of the City of W' nter Springs to be affixed this
8th day of February, 1988.
