Ms. Wade: I am pleased to offcr you the position of Telephone Operator at the City of Winter Springs beginning May 1, 2006, contingent upon you passing a criminal background check and drug screening. This position performs routine work operating a telephone PBX console carrying moderate telephone traffic. The work requires placing, answering and trans felTing calls and may involve answering routine inquiries for information and/or referring more difficult or complex inquiries to the proper personnel. Additionally, some clerical work may be required. I feel confident with your work experience and knowledge you can do an cxcclJcnt job performing these duties. Your experience working with the general public provides you with the skills developed to handle this position and provides the City with an excelJent resource. Your interview skills and professional manner demonstrate your ability to clearly communicate necessary information in a clear, concise and calming manner; skills this position will certainly find bcneficial to have and complement the City very well. The starting salary for this position is $24,225 including benefits. The City offers the following benefits to its employees: . Health Insurance (costs employee $5 per month) . Life Insurance (paid for by the City) · 10 paid holidays per year (includes a floating) . 1 0 days paid vacation per year (years 1-15) · 15 days paid vacation per year (years 16+) . 12 Sick days per year The City offers a pension plan to all it employees. After 6 months a mandatory 3% pension plan is deducted from your pay. If you leave before you're fully vested, you forfeit the money you've paid in. Vesting is as follows: starting at 3 years 20% vested; 4 years 40% vested; 5 years 60% vested; 6 years 80% vested: 7 years 100% vested. Evaluations are conducted during the first 6 months you arc on probation. During that time, you would get evaluated at 2 months, 4 months, and 6 months. You are not eligible for a raise nor are you eligible for paid vacation days off (although you do accrue vacation days during that time). At 1 year you are evaluated again and are eligible for a raIse. Finally, the City does have a Technical Training Agreement that must be signed stating that you will repay for this training if you leave within 2 years after we've paid for any training for you.
