HomeMy WebLinkAboutMemo to CALNO Members (Date Unknown) CCILCG3~CC LAKE MARY Council of Local Governments in Seminole County LONGWOOD WINTER SPRINGS CASSELBERRY ALTAMONTE SPRINGS OVIEDO Memorandum to Calno Members Our last meeting (November 4 at Winter Springs) did not have sufficient attendance to constitute a quorum - hence no minutes. We did have some interesting discussion provided by the League of Women Voters of Seminole County (Pat Southward), however. If you are unable to attend a meeting, it would be appreciated by all concerned that you advise the host city of your intended absence; we could have eaten all the cookies and finished off the coffee had we not been considerate of your possible tardiness. '-.... Calno had contracted, via a grant with the DCA, to provide a personnel survey to our member cities (see attached letter). At this point in time, I have no idea what was accomplished in your city, but I can report that I have heard unofficially that the agency performing the survey will be disbanded on the first of the year - what we now have is all we're going to get. I have been attempting to speak to their office to have someone verify and possibly attend this next meeting for discussion of the matter; no luck so far. Don't become apathetic as to the value of our organization. We all need this forum for exchange of ideas and information that can be beneficial to ourselves as public officials and to our citizens. Any item of interest is welcomed at our meetings for discussion - if you prefer to have it on the agenda with advance background data provided, please call me well in advance of the agenda preparation. Recognize the value of this intercouse and partici- pate - our cities are going to have troubled times ahead and you ain't goin' to solve them from inside a vacuum. of the November issue of Florida Municipal Record - the l~ sales is becoming a major one that we must all be prepared to speak to. you that belong to the East Central Florida Regional Planning of November 26 has p you formulate your opinions. rmed! ~ OS/lt Attachment Chairman
