Re: Amicus Brief in City of Erie v. Pap's A.M.
United States Supreme Court Docket No. 98-1161
Dear All:
Please accept this letter as written confirmation that on June 2, 1999 CALNO formally
retained the above attorneys to represent their interests before the United States Supreme
Court in its review of City of Erie v. Pap's A.M. As you are well aware, Seminole County
recently adopted, by overwhelming majority referendum vote, a public nudity ordinance.
It is likely the City of Erie case will have a substantial impact on the regulation of nudity
and adult entertainment in Seminole County and its seven cities. Therefore, CALNO (the
Council of Local Governments within Seminole County) unanimously voted to seek
amicus curie status before the U.S. Supreme Court to support the constitutionality of the
City of Erie's public nudity ordinance. We appreciate all of your efforts in this matter.
Sincerely,
~~. ~~/udL
