CALNO GOVERNMENT CABLE TELEVISION CHANNEL TASK FORCE
September 11, 1997
TIME WARNER CABLE HEADQUARTERS, 2251 Lucien Way, #320, Maitland, FL
COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT:
Commissioner Cindy Gennell, Chairperson, City of Winter Springs
Larry Furlong, CALNO Member, Seminole County School Board Member
Diane Pickett, Time Warner Cable (TWC)
Steve Coover, ESQ.
Michael Blake, CALNO Alternate Member, City of Winter Springs
Stephen M. Steck, WMFE Public Television Station
The meeting was called to order at 9:15 a.m.
Mr. Steve Coover presented a first draft of the proposed interlocal agreement and
discussed interlocal agreements in general as tools available to local governments
for accomplishing joint efforts.
Members made minor changes to the draft agreement reflecting discussion from
previous meetings.
Notes from previous Task Force meetings were circulated and minor corrections
were made.
Frank Kruppenbacher, ESQ., Attorney for TWC arrived at 10:50 a.m. He requested
a statement to protect cities from unlimited financial responsibility.
Steve Coover suggested that that issue be addressed in the opportunity to opt out.
Frank Kruppenbacher suggested that Public Education be stressed to help promote
this project.
Discussion took place regarding a one year budget Vs a three year budget.
There was consensus that it would be best left to the consortium being formed to
decide what time frame was more appropriate.
IT WAS THE CONSENSUS OF THE TASK FORCE TO RECOMMEND NAMING
THE CABLE SERVICE "SEM/NOLE TV"AND THAT THE MID-LEVEL OF
SERVICE BE ADOPTED.
The meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
