Subject: Intergovernmental Planning Coordination Agreement
Dear Mr. Kaiser:
As you know, the City recently received a copy of the County- proposed revisions to the subject
agreement. We understand the agreement has not been substantially modified since 1985 and, therefore,
the appropriateness and desirability of an update is certainly not in question. However, certain elements
of the proposal would seem to substantially increase the scope of coverage of the agreement while
providing little material benefit in return, at least according to our own internal analysis.
While we recognize that our analysis may not be shared or agreed upon by others, our concerns
nevertheless are enclosed in the communication evaluation from our Community Development Director,
Dick Wells. As a result of these kinds of concerns, the City Commission has requested that the County
carefully consider them; and that other cities have the opportunity to have a discussion on this type of
agreement through the City and County local government communication association (CALNO).
Accordingly, these comments are forwarded to the CALNO representatives of the other cities and to the
County so that we may begin such a dialogue.
Sincerely,
u A1-44,--4/6-Z4).
