COUNCIL OF LOCAL GOVERNKENTS IN SEMINOLE COUNTY
MARCH 1. 1995
The Council of Local Governments in Seminole County held a meeting
on Wednesday, March 1,1995 at 7:00 p.m., county Services Building,
1101 East First street, Room 3000, Sanford, Florida.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Mayor Iris Benson, Longwood
Commissioner Whitey Eckstein, Sanford
Commissioner Gary Brender, Lake Mary
Board Member Barbara Kuhn, Seminole County School Board
commissioner Pat Fernandez, Altamonte Springs
commissioner cindy Gennell, Winter Springs
Councilperson Thomas A. Hagood, Jr., Oviedo
Commissioner Pat Warren, Seminole County

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Iris Benson, Chairman, at
7: 05 p.m. with a moment o:f silent meditation and pledge of
allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
School Board Member Kuhn moved to approve the Minutes of February
1, 1995, as submitted. Seconded by Commissioner Eckstein.
TREASURERS REPQR'J'
commissioner Brender reported a total balance of $531.66.
commissioner Brender stated that statements had been mailed to the
various cities in the amount of $25.00 for the annual assessment.
OLD BUSINXS:;
Mayor Benson asked tor nominations to the Community Services Block
Grant Advisory Board. A motion was moved by Commissioner Fernandez
to nominate Bob Lerner, Altamonte Springs and motion by Councilman
Hagood to nominate John Benson, Oviedo. Councilman Hagood moved to
approve the nominations. Seconded by Commissioner Eckstein.

Mayor Benson distributed a city comparison criteria list (compiled
by Commissioner Gennell) for review and information. (see attached)
Mayor Benson distributed a copy of letter a from Chai~an Randall
Morris, Seminole County, expressing thanks and appreciation to
CALNO for its recent efforts on the issue ot sign regulations. (see
attached)
Mayor Benson distributed a list of addresses and telephone numbers
for all CALNO members.
NEW BUSINESS
School Board Member Kuhn conducted a presentation on Parliamentary
Procedure Tips (see attached handout).
No member reports were given and the meeting was adjourned at 8:35
p.m.
