COUNCIL OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN SEMINOLE COUNTY Legislative Policy Statement - 1991 The Council of Local Governments in Seminole County encourages you 'to: Support the repeal of section 166.231 (l)(b) of the Florida statutes which exempts the "fuel adjustment charge" from the Public Service Tax. Support legislation t,hat allows a local government to receive l'evenues via "partial year assessments" or "interim service fees" on new construction upon issuance of a certificate of occupancy. Support increased authority for local option gas taxes so that local governments can further address current and future municipal transportation needs. Support legislation to develop a state water resources management policy to be implemented within the existing comprehensive planning process and which deals responsibly and equitably with issues of local government administration. Ss(~at()r Ga.cdner Pi3.ge -2- Harch 13, 1991 Insure that schools be includeq in concurrency requirements for all growth management plans- Support legislation which promotes urban infill by requiring more stringent public facility and service provision requirements in rural areas than required in urban areas.
