MEMBERS PRESENT Commissioner Lee Constantine, Altamonte Springs Commissioner. Hank) Hardy, Longwood Commissioner Jennifer Kelley, Seminole County Commission Commissioner Whitey Eckstein, Sanford Commissioner Ida Cook, Oviedo Nancy Warren, Seminole County School Board Commissioner Cindy Kaehler, Winter Springs MEMBERS ABSENT Mayor Andrea Dennison, Casselberry Commissioner David J. Mealor, Lake Mary OTHERS PRESENT Chief Paul Algeri, Casselberry Fire Department Dale Metz, Casselberry Paramedic Janice Geroni, ALS Billing Clerk CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Hank Hardy. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Moved by Commissioner Constantine, seconded by Commissioner Kelley, to approve the minutes of October 3, 1990 as presented. Motion carried unanimously. TREASURER'S REPORT Due to the absence of the treasurer, no report was given. OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS The scheduled guest speaker, Mr. Tony Vanderworp, Director, Seminole County Planning Department, was unable to attend. CALNO MEETING November 7, 1990 Page 2 HOST PRESENTATION Chief Paul Algeri briefed the Council on the Casselberry Transportation Ambulance Service that is provided the citizens by the Fire Department. The City has been operating this service for the past seven (7) months. Transportation is provided only in cases of emergency, service is not for routine ambulance transportation. There is a $150 fee charged for residents; non-residents are charged $250; Medi- caid, Medicure, Champus, Champ VA are accepted on assignment by direction of Council. The Chief stated that Casselberry is proud of its ALS Transportation Program; it is one of the best services provided in the County and the first of its kind in Seminole County. Chief Algeri said he has projected revenues from this service would be between $50,000 - $60,000 per year. REPORTS FROM MEMBERS Altamonte Springs Commissioner Constantine stated that Altamonte Springs Therapeutic Recreation Program had been nominated for an National Award under Lesiure Services and Recreation Program throughout the United States. They won the Gold Medal for the number one service program in the United States. Commissioner Constantine also reported that the Haunted House was a success; it exceeded last year's revenues. Winter Springs Commissioner Kaehler stated that Winter Springs had set up a committee to raise funds for their new park other than tax funds. They are currently holding a contest to name the park. Oviedo Commissioner reported on their Halloween Carnival; a tremendous success. She also stated that they had begun mosquito spraying in their City. Longwood Commissioner Hardy reported that as a result of the election, Longwood had elected two new City Commissioners. NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be held in Lake Mary on December 5, 1990.
