PROCEDURES FOR RESOLU~ION OF DISPUTES
Mayor Smith gave out copies of the Dispute Resolution Procedures that she
had written. Commissioner Hank Hardy offered to allow his attorney to draft
a procedure in an "interlocal agreement form". Discussion. Everyone was
in agreement with this.
SIGN ORDINANCES
Mayor Smith asked if CALNO and the Council of Mayors wish to go on record as
saying that they will look toward having uniform sign ordinances. Discussion.
It was decided to get the County's information on the sign ordinances.
FIRE ARMS LEGISLATION
Mayor Smith questioned whether CALNO wanted to take a stand on this. or
whether the individual cities should take a stand. Discussion. One thought
was that there were too many loop holes in the legislation against the buying
of fire arms. There was discussion on the necessity of the three-day waiting
period. Mayor Smith questioned whether CALNO had to have a unanimous decision
on everything, or just on legislative things.
Motion was made to pass a resolution like the one passed by Altamonte Springs,
and send it to the Board of County Commissioners to let them know how CALNO
feels. Discussion. Mayor Smith said that if the By-laws say this can be done,
we will pass a resolution to the County showing what the vote was. If the laws
say the vote must be unanimous, we won't send it. Mayor Smith said that she
would report back to CALNO. Discussion. Vote on the issue: all ayes with the
exception of Commissioner Hank Hardy.
