Dear Mrs. Lormonn:
Thank you again for allowing me to speak before the Council of Local Govern-
ments in Seminole County. I believe that we accomplished a great deal in a
relatively short time and was pleased to note the support given our "plight"
by all the members of the Council.
I was asked to furnish further information regarding funding and current pro-
posals before the Legislature which I feel will be both informative and some-
what shocking. Attached you will find an ES Funding fact Sheet that basically
reiterates the context of my presentation to the Council. Also attached is a
commentary by Congressman Bill Nelson stating his position and hopes for con-
tinued funding of the Employment Service. The third attachment is a letter
from the Tri-County Veterans Employment Advisory Council to Senator Lawton
Chiles which also addresses the private agencies bid for federal monies under
the Findley Bill, HR-4738.
At present, the situation appears to have alleviated although we are sill un-
certain of funding approval. Although rumors tend to indicate funding will be
accomplished it is still essential to let our elected officials know how
strongly we feel about the rising unemployment rate, increased tax burden,
and role of the ES. I sincerely hope the information I have furnished you will
support my feelings and concerns. If your Council deems it appropriate to take
action on this issue in the form of a unified, written, pledge of support, I
would appreciate a copy for my local office files which I will also forward to
the State Office in Tallahassee.

Again, I thank you for your cooperation and support and hopefully, together
we can make Seminole County a more secure and viable place to live.
Sincerely,
