HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981 12 02 Minutes MINUTES OF COUNCIL OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN SEMINOLE COUNTY December 2, 1981 The regular meeting of Council of Local Governments in Seminole County was held on Wednesday, December 2, 1981, ~n the City Hall of the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida. 1. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Owen Sheppard. Present: Deputy Mayor Lee Constantine - Altamonte Springs Mayor OWen Sheppard - Casselberry Mayor Walter Sorenson - Lake Mary Deputy Mayor June Lormann - Longwood Mayor Robert Whittier - Oviedo Commissioner Edwin o. Keith - Sanford Commissioner Sandra Glenn - Seminole County Dep. Mayor John Torcaso - Winter Springs 2. Treasurer's Report June Lormann reported that the checking account balance was ~still $75.38. It was moved by John Torcaso to accept the Treasurer's Report. Seconded by Lee Constantine and Walter Sorenson. 3. Open Forum: There was a discussion by John Torcaso and Sandra Glenn on the one-cent sales tax support. 4. Reports from Members. ALTAMONTE SPRINGS Lee Constantine reported the results of the City Election held in November. Resolution 479 concerning the one-cent sales tax support was discussed, along with the City's Work Programs, the Transportation Study and the Arbor Ordinance. The settlement of the Hi-Acres suit was also discussed. CASSELBERRY Owen Sheppard reported on their City Elections and Paramedic Program. The City also broke ground on its new building. LAKE MARY Walter Sorenson reported on Lake Mary's support of the Resolution on Crime Lab. It was moved to support the Resolution by Edwin Keith and seconded by Lee Constantine. LON GWOOD June Lormann reported on the City's elections and the Grey Water System. OVIEDO Robert Whittier reported on the City's selection of a new engin- eering firm. SANFORD Edwin Keith reported on the City's 201 Project. SEMINOLE COUNTY Sandra Glenn reported on the 4/5ths Comprehensive Plan. Also, instead of 67, there are 72 county precincts redistricting. She also reported on the sidewalks at Altamonte Elementary. WINTER SPRINGS John Torcaso reported on the City's Reserve Funds and other informal information. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
