MINUTES OF
COUNCIL OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN SEMINOLE COUNTY
SEPTDmER 3, 1980
The regular meeting of the Council of Local Governments in Seminole County
was held on September 3, 1980 at 1: 30 at the Lake Mary Fire Hall.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Norman Floyd.
Present were:
Camnissioner Sandra Glenn
Mayor Walter A. Sorenson
Mayor Norman Floyd
Mayor Owen Sheppard
Commissioner Edwin O. Keith
Deputy Mayor Wilfred Arnold, Jr.
Seminole County
City of Lake Mary
City of Altamonte Springs
City of Casselberry
City of Sanford
City of Winter Springs
Motion was made by Mayor Floyd, seconded and carried to approve the minutes
of the meeting of June 4, 1980.
The Treasurer, Deputy Mayor Lorman, was unable to attend the meeting,. Therefore,
the scheduled Treasurer's Report was not delivered.
Reverend Brinkly telephoned and said he was unable to apPear as scheduled for
discussion of house task force for Seminole County.
Mr. Jack SChuder, Director of Seminole County Public Works DePartment, presented
an addendum to the Solid Waste Disposal Plan. Mr. Schuder explained that each
entity should select emergency burn site areas that can be utilized in time of
disaster. Mr. Schuder suggested that each City Council select their burn sites
and then formally adopt the addendum by resolution. Mayor Floyd suggested that
the Cities send Mr. Schuder a copy of their resolution and attach a map showing
designated burn sites.
A discussion ensued among Council members pertaining to the present TRIM Bill.
Mayor Sheppard asked that the Council be kept informed on the IPA Grant.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
