The meeting \Vas called to order at 7:38 by the Chairman, Bo Simpson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were corrected to include the
name of Dave Chacey as being present. Mr. Knowles moved to approve
the minutes as corrected. Mr. Glascock seconded. Hotion ca'rried.
The Chairman i0formed the members that if the Board approved, the
Sanford City Manager's Conference Room would serve as a regular
meeting place, The members indicated agreement. It was also
announced that the County will take care of the copy work and
mailing of minutes, and Mrs. Harrison will take the minutes at the
meeting and transcribe them and deliver them to the County; for an
agreed sum of $30.00 per meeting.
;
The meeting was then turned over to Roger Nieswender to continue
his report on County services. He outlined the Transportation
Trust Fund and services provided, such as road and bridge service.
Of the $208,000. millage, 52% is County and 48% municipality. Since
the State dictates the distribution of these monies) it was determined
it was not an issue.'
During the discussion of traffic signals and the fact that the
County maintains them at no cost to the cities, Mr. Bentley asked
them to recheck the number quoted as he felt there was a question
a~out 5 signals not listed.
During the discussion on State Revenue Sharing, it was determined
that the method of distribution is based on so many different
factors that another meeting would have to be held to cover just
that subject, and additional research would have to be conducted.
