The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by the Chairman,
Bo Simpson,in the City Manager's Conference Room at City Hall,
Sanford, Florida. He introduced Mrs. Harrison and said that
CALNO had allocated $300.00 to be paid for secretarial services
for the Tax Equalization Committee for 20 meetings.
He informed the committee he had met in a Work Session and hoped
that a series o~ meetings will lead to a compromise between the
cities and the County.
The meeting was then turned over to Roger Neiswender and Jeff
Etchberger for discussion on the information compiled for the
Committee on the County Budget distribution for the last fiscal
year, and a projection of the 1978/79 Budget.
Mr. Simpson gave the members a form from the Seminole County Property
Appraiser's Office on which the Budget figures could be transferred
and a method of determining whether or not double taxation exists
in a particular category.
After discussion and explanation of expenditures and receipts
within the Building, Planning and Land Development Divisions, it
was the general feeling that these areas are self sustaining and
ad valorem taxes are not involved.
Mr. Nieswender agreed to bring the Public Safety Officer to the
next meeting and the topic for discussion would be Road Funding
and information on the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund and how the
money is being used.
It was decided the next meeting would be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20,
1979 in the City Manager's Conference Room, City Hall, Sanford, FL.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
