Too bad there was nobody left to celebrate. Put a roof on it I forget whether lightning does or does not strike twice in the same place. Hail sure does. During the great hailstorms of March 1992, myvintage 1972 VW bug got pounded after I pulled over on Interstate 4 at the Kennedy Boule- .. yard overpass just east of Lee Road. I remember sitting inside. as golf ball-size hail hammered the bug. The front windshield started cracking so badly that I held a newspaper in front of my-face in case glass started fly- ing. That's right, all of this happened here, right in the middle of paradise. Sunday afternoon, the same thing happened at the same overpass. This time, though, I was westbound, not eastbound. The hail was not nearly so fierce, either, though my heart, started beating again only recently. Clearly, they need to put a canopy over I-4 at that overpass. If it can hap- pentwice, itcan happen again. Jim Toner can be read, t.' at407-772-8034 or , "T- ' STEVEP( d. BARNES FOR THE ORLAND(S~SENTIN~ 'South Pacific.'
