HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2006-31 Dog Park RESOLUTION NUMBER 2006-31 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, IN COOPERATION WITH THE CITY OF OVIEDO, FLORIDA TO COMMIT TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A "DOG PARK" TO SERVE THE RESIDENTS OF BOTH CITIES AND THE UNINCORPORATED AREA; TO REQUEST FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE SEMINOLE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida and the City of Oviedo, Florida are municipalities located within Seminole County, Florida and share a common municipal border; and WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida and the City of Oviedo, Florida have determined that the development of a "Dog Park" would meet an important need for residents who own canines in the City of Winter Springs, in the City of Oviedo, and in unincorporated eastern Seminole County; and WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida and the City of Oviedo, Florida believe that it is appropriate for Seminole County to provide financial support for the construction of said facility that would also be utilized by unincorporated area residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA that we hereby concur with the City of Oviedo City Council to commit to assist in the design and construction of a "Dog Park" to be funded by both cities and the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners.
