TITLE
Deputy Mayor Nomination for Calendar Year 2026
SUMMARY
The Deputy Mayor position is defined under the City's Charter, Section 4.05. Mayor
which states, “The city commission shall elect from among its members a deputy
mayor who shall act as mayor during the absence or disability of the mayor. However,
if a vacancy occurs in the position of mayor, the vacancy shall be filled in accordance
with section 4.08(c) of this Charter."
The current Deputy Mayor is Cade Resnick who was nominated and confirmed at the
Monday, November 18, 2024 City Commission Regular Meeting to serve the remainder
of 2024 and throughout calendar year 2025.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Commission appoint a member of the City Commission to
serve as the next Deputy Mayor for calendar year 2026.
