City of Winter Springs at (407) 327-1800 "at least 48 hours prior to meeting, a written request by a

board, commission, agency, or authority" - per Section 286.26 Florida Statutes.

CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Dan Finley called the Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Oak Forest Wall and
Beautification District Advisory Committee Regular Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the
Commission Chambers of the Municipal Building (City Hall, 1126 East State Road 434,
Winter Springs, Florida 32708).

A moment of silence was held and was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

500) Quarterly Fiscal Year-To-Date Expenditure Details
Ms. Queen gave a review of the quarterly Year-To-Date expenditure details, highlighted
a few line codes and invited questions. Ms. Queen suggested the committee look at the
mid-year meeting date and change it to assist better with the budgeting process.
Currently, the April meeting occurs too early, and the July meeting occurs to late in the
budget process.
501) Update on Oak Forest Wall and Landscaping Projects
Mr. Maddox touched on continuing the tuck point project on the wall and the
restoration of the wall is progressing. The landscaping contractor will be going out to
bid again. Mr. Maddox explained the current contractor only picked up the pervious
contractor that left halfway through the contractor so there is no renewal for the
current contractor.
Continuing, Mr. Maddox suggested changing and moving the flowers to sustainable
flower options and relayed right-of-way tree was going to being performed in the
future to the Board.

Staff recognized the committee’s request to re-analyze the number of meetings in a
year and relayed an item would be added to the next meeting’s agenda.

TITLE
Discussion on Meeting Schedule for Calendar Year 2025
SUMMARY
At the July 17, 2024 meeting the Committee decided to revisit the frequency of
meeting dates for the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee.
Staff is recommending decreasing to two (2) times a year and tentatively scheduling
the meetings for the third wednesday in May and November at 6:30 pm.
Tentatively dates for next year would be as follows:
May 21, 2025
November 19, 2025
Additionally, Special meetings can be scheduled if the need arises or a decision needs
to be made urgently on a specific matter.

Staff recommends the Committee discuss and provide direction to establish the 2025
meeting dates.
