CITY COMMISSION AGENDA | APRIL 14, 2025 REGULAR MEETING
TITLE
Second Reading of Ordinance 2025-08: Creation of Parks, Recreation, & Mobility
Committee
SUMMARY
City staff conducted a comprehensive review of all advisory boards and committees
presented to the City Commission on January 13, 2025. The Commission held further
discussion on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and Bicycle and
Pedestrian Advisory Committee at the February 10, 2025 meeting and voted to merge
the committees and create a new Parks, Recreation, and Mobility Committee. The
proposed Ordinance 2025-08 amends the City Code to achieve this merger.
The net result is that if the Ordinance is approved and the functions of the existing two
committees are merged and redefined, the City will have one less board to manage.
One minor change was made between first and second reading in Section 2-43
clarifying the terms of the at-large members of the committee.
FUNDING SOURCE
RECOMMENDATION
Staff requests the Commission hold a public hearing and approve the adoption of
Ordinance 2025-08 on second reading.
