SUMMARY The purpose of this agenda item is to request authorization for the purchase of one (1) 150KW generator, for lift station 7W, from Ring Power Systems. This equipment will be owner direct purchase by the City. Lift Station 7W which is located at 607 S Edgemon Ave is currently under contract to be replace by December 2025. A separate agenda item for construction of the lift station was awarded by Commission to Prime Construction on September 23rd, 2024. Prime Construction will install the generator once it is delivered. This equipment will provide the necessary back-up power capability to operate the new facility. The cost for the generator is $94,322.40 (piggybacking off the Sourcewell [National Joint Powers Alliance] Contract 120617- CAT). Additionally, requesting authorization to purchase three (3) submersible pumps through Veolia from Xylem. The submersible pumps are needed for the new lift station due to the age of the dry pit design of the existing pumps. The new pumps should last for the next 20 years with adequate maintenance. These submersible pumps move the wastewater from the lift station to the West Plant. The total cost for the purchase of the pumps will be $114,186. By purchasing through Veolia the City is saving approximately $24,000 by utilizing Veolia's national contract pricing. FUNDING SOURCE The total purchase of $208,508.40 will be funded from the FY25 Construction in Progress budget. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the City Commission award a contract to Ring Power Systems in the amount of $94,322.40 for the purchase of one (1) 150KW fixed generator, piggybacking off the Sourcewell (National Joint Powers Alliance) Contract 120617-CAT. Additionally staff recommends the City Commission award a contract to Veolia to purchase three (3) submersible pumps from Xylem.
