TITLE
Promotion Ceremony-Officer Lynn Saccente
SUMMARY
It brings me great pleasure to recognize one of our fine Officers to be
promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Often described as the most critical
function within the police department, the first-line supervisor. They are
vested in performing administrative and operational decisions daily of a
patrol squad. Additionally, they are there to mentor and coach officers at all
experience levels.
Officer Saccente started her career with the City on February 12, 2018. After
completing her field training, she was assigned to the Bravo shift, where she
excelled in becoming a solo officer. Officer Saccente was eager to learn and
took on more and more responsibilities as her training and knowledge grew.
In April 2019, Officer Saccente was selected and joined the specialized ATV
Unit. This unit patrols all the city trails and many of the city events. In 2020,
Officer Saccente was recruited to become a Field Training Officer, where she
has trained numerous officers and continues to do so. Additionally, Officer
Saccente became a member of the traffic unit. Whereas her focus was
reducing traffic crashes throughout the city and targeting aggressive drivers.
Later in 2021, Officer Saccente became the agency's First Aid and CPR
instructor. If you recall, she was recognized for saving two lives on the same
December day. In 2022, Officer Saccente became an Assistant Shift Leader to
assist the Sergeant with daily operations and take over the shift in her
Sergeant's absence.
During her short but productive five-year career, Officer Saccente has had
numerous accolades, including twice receiving the Officer of the Month
award, Two Unit Citations Awards, and Three Life-Saving Awards. Officer
Saccente has developed a positive relationship between the community and
members of the agency and has shown to be a great asset to the police
department and to the city of Winter Springs.

I do not doubt that Officer Saccente will have a long successful career here.
Please help me congratulate and welcome Sergeant Saccente to our ranks.
