DR. E. ANN McGEE earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech, a Master of Arts in Communication from Florida State
WHEREAS,
and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University; and
! HER'EAS, In 1996, DR. E. ANN McGEE was named President of Seminole State College, serving as only the second President in
Seminole State College's 52 year history; and under her renowned governance, Seminole State College has grown from a single -campus
Community College to a State College institution with 4 campuses throughout Seminole County; and
under her profound leadership of more than 22 years of dedicated service, DR. E. ANN McGEE has carefully guided
Seminole State College's growth with enrollment of now more than 30,000 students, making Seminole State College the seventh (71') largest
employer in Seminole County and the ninth (9ei) largest of the 28 colleges in the Florida College System; and through the efforts and goals of
DR. E. ANN McGEE, the number and variety of programs and Degrees offered at Seminole State Callege has increased to over 200 including
an educational partnership with 2 institutions of higher learning in Europe, offering International Master's Degrees; and
HEREAS,; Over an illustrious career of more than 46 years, DR. E. ANN McGEE has been recognized for her renowned excellence as
an educationalist, administrator, community volunteer as well as serving as an advocate for her community; and understandably has received
numerous accolades to include the "Seminole County Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award" (2004), being named "One of the
Top 100 Most Influential People in Central Florida" by The Orlando Business Journal, recipient of the "'James B. Greene Economic
Development Award" from the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission "for contributions to the nation's economic growth"
(2013), and recognized as "Woman of the Decade" from Orange Appeal (2018), just to name a few; and
because of her aspirations, because of her dedication, because of her invaluable leadership, endeavors, and accomplishments,
DR. E. ANN McGEE has enhanced and changed the course of lives of so many individuals in Seminole County and beyond; and
Wt1ERFA$, as stated by DR. E. ANN McGEE, "The legacy that I hope I'm leaving is a living legacy that really lives through the
successes of our students, faculty and staff"; to which the legacy of DR. E. ANN McGEE will indeed continue improving the lives of the
students, faculty, administration and everyone else associated with Seminole State College and will duly continue to change the landscape of
Seminole County as well as Central Florida and many other communities — all for the better.
Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, do hereby Proclaim that since 1996
through this date, the admired and distinguished service and exemplary legacy of
SS C PRESIDENT - DR. E. ANN McGEE
will live on through the successes of the thousands who over the last 22 years have benefitted by her extraordinary leadership and
for many decades to come, the residents of Seminole County and communities beyond will offer their heartfelt appreciation to this
esteemed leader amongst leaders, DR. E. ANN McGEE.
