SUMMARY Staff requests the approval of a one-year extension to the existing contract well in advance of its expiration. In reference to Section 12.1 of the executed contract, a one- year renewable term would occur automatically unless canceled in writing by either party no less than 90 days prior to the end of the City’s current fiscal year. Knowing that the solicitation process for a new contractor would take at least 9 months the City is seeking an assurance by approval of the Commission that staff would not need to seek a new contractor through the next fiscal year. After much discussion amongst City staff it was decided that it would be in the City's best interest to continue our relationship with Veolia, particularly while the City will be designing and constructing two new wastewater treatments plant in the coming years.
