HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023 09 25 Consent 301 - Community Development Fee Schedule (Resolution 2023-31)CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 301 CITY COMMISSION AGENDA | SEPTEMBER 25, 2023 REGULAR MEETING TITLE Community Development Fee Schedule SUMMARY Resolution 2023-31 reorganizes and updated the fees associated with the various functions of Community Development (Planning & Zoning and Building). The current fees are remaining the same with the exception of an increase in the cost for a Zoning Verification Letter from $25 to $100. Zoning Verification Letters have become increasingly popular in recent years and the requests have increasingly asked for more information that take more staff time to produce. The intent of reorganizing the structure of the fee schedule is to make it more readable and user-friendly for the general public. FUNDING SOURCE n/a RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the City Commission adopt Resolution 2023-31 updating the fees associated with the Community Development Department. 169 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-31 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA AMENDING THE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH PLANNING, ZONING, AND BUILDING PERMITS AND OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF PRIOR INCONSISTENT RESOLUTIONS; SEVERABILITY; AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to revise the fees for Planning, Zoning, and Building permits and related activities; and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that this Resolution is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Winter Springs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals. The following recitals are true and correct and hereby fully incorporated herein by this reference as part of this resolution. Section 2. Fees Established. The City Commission hereby adopts the fee schedule set forth in Exhibit “A,” attached hereto and fully incorporated herein by this reference. The fees set forth in Exhibit “A” shall become effective immediately upon adoption of this Resolution by the City Commission. Section 3. Repeal of Prior Inconsistent Resolutions. All prior inconsistent resolutions adopted by the City Commission, or parts of prior resolutions in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict. Section 4. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, word, or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto. Section 5. Effective date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by the City Commission.
