PUBLIC HEARINGS AGENDA 400) Babyland Bilingual Academy Mr. Tafelsky introduced the item and gave a brief overview explaining that due to City Code changes labeling " Daycares and School" as "conditional use" instead of a "permitted use". Therefore,the project needed approval before moving forward. Ms. Marcelo Sampaio,5025 Old Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32792, "Babyland" representative gave a presentation briefing the Board of the curriculum, potential layout,and Programs the academy will provide. Discussion ensued on safety, staffing, shuttling, and pick-up and drop-off procedures the academy plans to implement. The representative gave responses to all questions proposed during the discussion.Staff made a recommendation for the Board to approve the project with specific conditions. The Board had brief discussion on traffic flow and parking before the Chairperson opened for public hearing. Chairperson Mah opened the Public Hearing for Item 400. No one addressed the Board. Chairperson Mah closed the Public Hearing for Item 400. "I MAKE A MOTION TO APPROVE BABYLAND BILINGUAL ACADEMY THAT INCLUDES THE CONDITIONS RECOMMENDED BY STAFF." MOTION BY BOARD MEMBER SHAFER. SECONDED BY VICE-CHAIRPERSON FERRANTE. DISCUSSION. VOTE: MAH (AYE); FERRANTE (AYE); SPALTHOFF (AYE); SHAFER (AYE); HOOD (AYE) MOTION CARRIED 5-0. REGULAR AGENDA 500.
