CALL TO ORDER
Vice-Chairperson Hogaboom called the Thursday, April 6, 2022 Oak
Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee Regular
Meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of the
Municipal Building (City Hall, 1126 East State Road 434, Winter Springs,
Florida 32708).

Bill Hogaboom but declined the nomination.

Oak Forest 2021 - 2022 Annual Meeting 041122
Committee Member Finely asked about the difference between 2021
and 2022 and how there was an increase of ten thousand. Ms. Elizabeth
Zuehlke; Manager of Budget and Fiscal Analysis, Finance Department
relayed that the Total assets increased for the City and there is where the
difference came in. Additionally, questions ensued about the cost of the
cringing fig removal and tucking and if there would be an additional
charges for the work. Mr. Kevin Maddox, Landscape Manager, Operations
Department relayed to the Committee the City is currently getting
estimates for the portions of the wall that needs to be tucked.
The Committee then continued with questions regarding the progress
of the removal of the fig on the residential sides of the wall and if Staff
was able to remove that as well as the outer road facing side. Staff has
been able to remove majority of the fig from the residential side that they
were able to gain access to and will repair there wall where weak point
are. Questions ensued on the line code related to the irrigations and
landscape for the entryway flower beds.
Ms. Zuehlke returned to the Year-to-date budget letting the Committee
know everything was going smoothly and all looks appropriate. The Staff
recommended the Committee to look at their assessment fee and make
a recommendation for the Commission on if they would like to increase
or stay stable. Questions regarding the process were asked; Staff clarified
for the Committee. Mrs. Casey Howard, Direct of Operations, Operations
Department relayed there is no anticipation for any increase unless the
Committee agreed upon additional services.
Discussion on landscaping and replacement landscape for the creeping
fig; staff recommended delaying till next year to look into other
landscaping options for those area to ensure the fig will not return.
Updates and refreshing within the medians and in front of the wall are
being looked into for this year.
