HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023 06 12 Consent 303 - Extension of Piggy Back Rider - Carlisle Thompson LLC (Hurricane Ian - FEMA Consultants.pdfCONSENT AGENDA ITEM 303 CITY COMMISSION AGENDA | JUNE 12, 2023 REGULAR MEETING TITLE Extension of Piggy Back Rider - Carlisle Thompson LLC (Hurricane Ian - FEMA Consultants) SUMMARY On November 14, 2022, The City entered into an agreement with Carlisle Thompson, LLC to assist the City with FEMA claims arising as a result of damage to City property caused by Hurricane Ian (September 2022). The original contract was a Piggyback from Seminole County - Disaster Recovery Consultant Services Agreement Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) RFP-03642-19TLR). The contract with Seminole County ended May 21, 2023. The County extended the contract for 90 days through August 19, 2023. The initial contract between the City and Carlisle Thompson, LLC was limited to $50,000. To date billing for services has totaled just under $50K. Most if not all or the funds paid to Carlisle Thompson will be reimbursed to the City through FEMA payments. Currently the funding for Carlisle Thompson is being shared by the General Fund (30%), Solid Waste Fund (20%), Water & Sewer (30%) and Stormwater (20%) Funds. RECOMMENDATION Staff requests the City Commission to authorize the Interim City Manager to execute the extension of Piggyback contract with Carlisle Thompson, identified as Disaster Recovery Consultant Services Agreement Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) RFP-03642-19TLR). Additionally, Staff requests the City Commission approve additional funding of $50,000. Please remember to keep this office up to date with a current certificate of insurance with the above contract number referenced on the certificate as required in the original, contract agreement.
