HEREAS, Winter Springs High School as part of the renowned Seminole County Public Schools serves
over 2,000 Seminole County students; and offers more than 30 sports programs; and
WHEREAS, Of the 30 sports programs that Winter Springs High School offers, Girls Weightlifting is one
joff the most outstanding sports programs; and
YWHERF.AS, The Winter Springs High School Girls Weightlifting Team, their Head Coach, John Mosure,
and Assistant Coach Jessee Lopez captured the 2023 Conference, District, Region Championships, and
finished the regular season undefeated, continuing a dual meet winning streak that dates back to 2017; and
WHEREAS,The Winter Springs High School lady lifters became the first Girls Weightlifting team in
Central Florida history to capture the Florida High School Athletic Association State Championship Team
Title.; and
WHEREAS,Alex Green and Taylor Rice were State Champions, Amy Barrelle and U'nitee Brown were
State Runner-ups, Sydney Song and Khloe Smith were State 401 Placers, Hannah Kozik was a State 6th
Placer, and Xitlalic Montelongo, Madyson Herber, Lexi Huaman, and Nicole Valdes were State Qualifiers—
