HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023 03 27 - Water Conservation Month P R 0 C LA M 0 N ff"Oftj OFFICE OF THE MAYOR WINTER k.,.,.•,.< SPRINGS, FLORIDA 19S9 W H E R EAS,water is a basic and essential need of every living creature;and W H E R EAS, the State of Florida,Water Management Districts,and City of Winter Springs are working together to increase awareness about the importance of water conservation; and W H E R EAS, the City of Winter Springs and the State of Florida has designated April,typically a dry month when water demands are most acute, Florida's Water Conservation Month to educate citizens about how they can help save Florida's precious water resources; and W H EREAS, the City of Winter Springs has long encouraged and supported water conservation through various educational programs;and W H E R EAS, every business, industry,school,and citizen can make a difference by conserving water and thus promoting a healthy economy and community,and W H E R EAS leak prevention is commonly thought to be the first step in conserving water, (your name) will encourage citizens and businesses to focus on fixing leaks; NOW THEREFORE, 1, Kevin McCann, Mayor of the Cityof Winter Springs,Florida do hereby Proclaim the month of April as: WATER CONSERVATION MONTH in the City of Winter Springs and encourage all residents to help protect our precious water resources by practicing water saving measures and becoming more aware of the need to save water.
