HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022 11 14 Consent 304 - Police Vehicle Purchase • CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 304 ,n m=ared CITY COMMISSION AGENDA I NOVEMBER 14, 2022 REGULAR MEETING 1959 TITLE Police Vehicle Purchase SUMMARY The Police Department requests to purchase twelve (12) new police fleet vehicles from Alan Jay Ford at the Sourcewell Contract# 2023 091521-NAF & 060920 NAF at the price of$40,144 & $40,247 per vehicle for a total purchase price of$482,350. The Finance Department conducted an evaluation of the Police Department's fleet. During the assessment, many factors were considered such as the current vehicle age, mileage, average annual mileage, purpose, fuel economy, service cost/history, residual value, etc. These new vehicles will replace twelve (12) current fleet vehicles per the replacement schedule created after conducting comprehensive research on vehicle viability and service life. Alan Jay Ford Fleet Sales is authorized to sell the units at the approved Sourcewell Contract price (Contract#2023 091521-NAF & 060920 NAF ). Obtaining police vehicles has become problematic as they are in high demand with an extremely limited to no inventory. Alan Jay has the units pre-ordered that another agency canceled. Alan Jay anticipates a delivery date of February. The funding source for the purchase of these police vehicles came from a fund balance reserves during the FY 22/23 year.
