SUMMARY Officer Dave Raney began his career with the City of Winter Springs as a Police Officer on January 18, 2001. During his career, Dave has held several assignments contributing to the success of the police department, including patrol, community relations and most notably in the Criminal Investigations Bureau as the lead fraud investigator for the police department. As his career progressed, Ofc. Raney became a department field training officer, SWAT officer, community relations officer, and agency representative in the county Emergency Operations Center. Additionally, Officer Raney was a founding member of the police departments 17-70 band. Officer Raney earned a certification as the only certified fraud investigator for the agency. He has been instrumental throughout the agency providing a unique skillset when dealing with high profile and sensitive fraud cases. During his career, Dave has earned hundreds of hours of advanced and specialized training, establishing himself as model ambassador for the WSPD. His compassion and care for those she serves is unparalleled. Officer Raney served this city with distinction and with honor for over 21 years and will retired from service with the City of Winter Springs in November 1, 2022. As is customary for long-tenured employees who have reached retirement from service with the City, the Commission has desired to formally recognize them for their service via presentation of a Resolution designed for this purpose. RECOMMENDATION Recognize Officer Dave Raney via Resolution 2022-28 for over 21 years of dedicated and loyal service to the city as a member of the police department.
