TITLE
Resolution 2022-28 Recognizing the Retirement of Officer Dave Raney from
the Police Department
SUMMARY
Officer Dave Raney began his career with the City of Winter Springs as a Police
Officer on January 18, 2001 . During his career, Dave has held several
assignments contributing to the success of the police department, including
patrol, community relations and most notably in the Criminal Investigations
Bureau as the lead fraud investigator for the police department. As his
career progressed, Ofc. Raney became a department field training officer,
SWAT officer, community relations officer, and agency representative in the
county Emergency Operations Center. Officer Raney earned a certification as
the only certified fraud investigator for the agency. He has been instrumental
throughout the agency providing a unique skillset when dealing with high
profile and sensitive fraud cases. During his career, Dave has earned
hundreds of hours of advanced and specialized training establishing himself
as model ambassador for the WSPD. His compassion and care for those she
serves is unparalleled. Officer Raney served this city with distinction and with
honor for over 21 years and will retired from service with the City of Winter
Springs in November 1, 2022.
As is customary for long-tenured employees who have reached retirement
from service with the City, the Commission has desired to formally recognize
them for their service via presentation of a Resolution designed for this
purpose.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff requests the Commission review and approve Resolution 2022-28 to be
presented to Officer Dave Raney.

RESOLUTION 2022 - 2 :
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA RECOGNIZING OFFICER DAVE RANEY FOR
HIS 21 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS; AND
EXPRESSING OUR APPRECIATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS;AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Whereas, Officer Raney has provided the residents of the City of Winter Springs with over 21 years of exceptional,
dedicated and distinguished service since joining the Police Department on January 18,2001;
Whereas, Officer Raney has served with the police department with professionalism, pride, dedication, and
commitment in numerous vital roles within the agency to include Patrol Officer, Community Relations, and Lead
Fraud Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Bureau;
Whereas, Officer Raney has earned hundreds of hours of rigorous advanced and specialized training to earn the
credentials as a Field Training Officer, SWAT Officer, and gained certification as the only certified fraud investigator
in the agency;
Whereas,Officer Raney served as a Patrol Officer for the police department in away that has served as a model for
other officers and that has garnered accolades and ongoing accreditation for the police department.
NOW therefore, be it Resolved by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida
as follows:
Section I-Upon the occasion of Officer Dave Raney's retirement,the Mayor and Commission,City Manager,and City
Staff, wish to recognize and honor him for his excellent level of distinguished service to the residents of Winter
Springs through his 21 years of exemplary service.
Section II - That the Resolution commending the services of Officer Raney be recorded upon the official Public
Records and Minutes of the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida_
Section III -That a copy of the Resolution be forwarded to Officer Raney with our sincerest and heartfelt thanks and
appreciation for his numerous and valued important contributions.
