Home My WebLink About2020 10 12 Consent 300 - Police Vehicle Purchase • CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 300 ,n m=ared CITY COMMISSION AGENDA I OCTOBER 12, 2020 REGULAR MEETING 1959 TITLE Police Vehicle Purchase SUMMARY The Police Department requests to purchase ten (10) new patrol fleet vehicles from Alan Jay Ford at the Sourcewell Contract#2021 120716-NAF & 06 at the price of$34,477 per vehicle. The fully-loaded proposed capital expenditure for the vehicles with installed patrol package from Lights & More and associated striping graphics is not to exceed $451,500. The Finance Department conducted an evaluation of the Police Department's fleet. During the assessment, many factors were considered such as the current vehicle age, mileage, average annual mileage, purpose, fuel economy, service cost/history, residual value, etc. These new vehicles will replace eight (8) current fleet vehicles per the replacement schedule created after conducting comprehensive research on vehicle viability and service life. Alan Jay Ford Fleet Sales is authorized to sell the units at the approved Sourcewell Contract price (Contract #2021 120716-NAF & 06). Alan Jay has the units pre-ordered for their fleet stock which will be available for December delivery. This timeframe offers marginal turn-around time to equip the new vehicles and put them in service. The unit price for the 2021 Ford Interceptor SUV is $34,477 for a total vehicle purchase price of$344,770. The funding source for the purchase of these police Ford Interceptor vehicles, striping graphics, and related emergency equipment is the approved FY 2021 Infrastructure Surtax - 3rd Generation Fund #121 .
