SUMMARY Officer Terry Neisler began his career with the City of Winter Springs as a Police Officer on January 8, 2009. Before that, Officer Neisler retired as a Corporal for the Orange County Sheriffs' Office, where he was a Field Training Officer and Narcotics Agent. During his career at Winter Springs, he has contributed to the success of the police department, most notably his dedication to our patrol division. In addition, Officer Neisler was an active member of our ATV unit, a Field Training Officer, and a response member who could deploy our Incident Command Center with little to no notice. During his career, he has earned hundreds of hours of advanced and specialized training, mentored and taught dozens of new trainee officers, and established himself as a model ambassador for the WSPD. His compassion and care for those he serves are unparalleled. Officer Neisler served this City with distinction and honor for 13 years and will retire from service with the City of Winter Springs on July 20, 2022. As is customary for long-tenured employees who have retired from service with the City, the Commission has desired to formally recognize them for their service via the presentation of a Resolution designed for this purpose. RECOMMENDATION Staff request the Commission review and approve Resolution 2022-14 to be presented to Officer Terry Neisler. 1 RESOLUTION 2022 -14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA RECOGNIZING OFFICER TERENCE NEILSER FOR HIS 13 1/2YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS;AND EXPRESSING OUR APPRECIATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS;AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Whelea$ Officer Neisler has provided the residents of the City of Winter Springs with 13 lh years of exceptional, dedicated and distinguished service since joining the Police Department on January 8,2009. WheleaS,, Officer Neisler has served with the police department with professionalism, pride, dedication, and commitment in numerous vital roles within the agency to include Patrol Officer, ATV Unit member, and Incident Command Trailer Response member. Whereas, Officer Neisler has earned hundreds of hours of rigorous advanced and specialized training to earn the credentials as a Field Training Officer, Certified ATV user, Mobile Field Force Operator, and Bike Patrol Officer. Whelea$ Officer Neisler served as a Patrol Officer for the police department in a way that has served as a model for other officers and that has garnered accolades and ongoing accreditation for the police department. NOW therefore, be it Resolved by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida as follows: Section I-Upon the occasion of Officer Terence Neisler's retirement,the Mayor and Commission, City Manager,and City Staff,wish to recognize and honor him for his excellent level of distinguished service to the residents of Winter Springs through her 13 1/2 years of exemplary service. Section II - That the Resolution commending the services of Officer Neisler be recorded upon the official Public Records and Minutes of the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida_ Section III-That a copy of the Resolution be forwarded to Officer Neisler with our sincerest and heartfelt thanks and appreciation for her numerous and valued important contributions.
