HomeMy WebLinkAboutElection Information - Electronic Letterhead - Rev 2017 08 22 CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA 1126 EAST STATE ROAD 434 WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA 32708-2799 Telephone (407) 327-1800 ANDREA LORENZO-LUACES CITY CLERK CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA 2018 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the City of Winter Springs will hold a General Municipal Election in which Voters will elect a Mayor, City Commissioner for District Two, and a City Commissioner for District Four. An individual wishing to run for Elected Office in the City of Winter Springs shall be a registered and qualified Voter in Winter Springs, at the time of their Qualifying. A Candidate for Mayor of the City of Winter Springs shall have resided in the City one (1) year prior to the time of Qualifying. A Candidate seeking the Office of Commissioner for District Two or Commissioner for District Four in Winter Springs shall have resided in the City one (1) year prior to the time of qualifying; AND shall have resided in the applicable Commission District six (6) months prior to the time of Qualifying. For anyone interested in running for Elected Office in the City of Winter Springs, and before any campaign contributions are accepted, one must first file with the City Clerk of the City of Winter Springs, an “APPOINTMENT OF CAMPAIGN TREASURER AND DESIGNATION OF CAMPAIGN DEPOSITORY FOR CANDIDATES” (DS-DE 9) form. (Once filed with the City of Winter Springs’ City Clerk, a Campaign Checking Account at your financial institution of choice does not need to be opened immediately; however, it is suggested that a Campaign Checking Account should be opened at some point so that a Campaign Account is available for any contributions that are received and/or planned expenditures. Additionally, Campaign Finance Reports must be filed as applicable, even if a Campaign Checking Account HAS NOT been opened; and even if a Candidate DOES NOT accept any contributions and/or no expenditures are incurred). If you would like to be notified when the Qualifying Packets are available, please contact the City Clerk at aluaces@winterspringsfl.org or call (407) 327-5955.
