WHEREAS, a handful of World War II Veterans in the City of Winter Springs have reached More
'than 100 years of age; and
WHEREAS, i'th 'the unconditional surrenders of Germany and Italy, American and its allies
celebrated 'the end of World War IIII in Europe as V,...E Day omn May 8,1945, and
WHEREAS, on September 2, llg 5, U.S. President IHarry S. ,..l...ru an announced Japan's formal
surrender aboard the USSMissouri, and designated the day as the official Victory over Japan Day
(V J ay) and the end of World War 11 mnearly'foumryeamrs after-the united States ofA erica entered
the war.
