July 25, 2020 Teresa Steward Winter Springs High School 130 Tuskawilla Rd. Winter Springs, FL 32708 To whom it may concern: It is a pleasure to provide a letter of recommendation for Meghan Geist, one of my former English honors students at Winter Springs High School. Meghan is applying to be a member of the Winter Springs Youth Council, and in my opinion, she will not only provide hard work and leadership if selected, but also a friendly and upbeat attitude. Meghan spent her time in my class productively and enthusiastically. She always pushed herself intellectually and academically. She was thoughtful and hardworking and a pleasure to teach. She was an effective communicator both in writing and in speaking, and her work ethic earned her high marks in my class as well as in other classes. She was also someone that her classmates turned to for help and advice, which clearly shows that she is a leader among her peers. As well as being a leader in the classroom and contributing to a positive classroom environment, Meghan has also shown these qualities in other ways as well. She has been playing lacrosse for 5 years, and since freshman year, she has been a varsity starter. This takes hard work and dedication to accomplish at such a young age. Most several years. Also demonstrating her hard work is the fact that she was awarded most improved player by her teammates. She was also selected by Storm Select Lacrosse to play in the th Presidents Cup, and she was a captain on her 8 grade team. On top of being a hard working lacrosse athlete, Meghan has also been dancing for 4 years. Because of her leadership, dedication, and obvious hard work, she was accepted into Leadership class where she will help spread school spirit, organize school-wide activities, and help boost school morale. All that being said, Meghan is just fun to be around and will bring good vibes along with her hard work. Therefore, I hope it is as clear to you as it is to me that Meghan is an exceptional individual and would be an amazing person to have on the Winter Springs Youth Council. She is intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated. She will listen and problem solve thoughtfully and creatively. She is capable of leading and serving others with grace, dignity, and good humor. I truly believe that she will be an asset to the council. Sincerely, Teresa Steward July 27, 2020 To whom it may concern, My name is Chef Dane Brevoort and I am recommending Ms. Meghan Geist for the Winter Springs Youth Council. I have over sixteen years of experience in the hospitality and culinary field and have been teaching at Winter Springs High School for the last three years. As a Chef I look to see who has leadership qualities and a positive attitude when faced with stressful situations. I had the opportunity to teach Meghan during her freshman year. In my culinary course she exceled, could think quickly, lead her assigned group and produced a quality dish. She was quick to learn each dish and helped any classmate while always keeping a positive attitude. Meghan has shown her passion for leadership on the field of play and on the dance floor as well. As an underclassman she was instrumental to the WSHS Varsity Lacrosse team and shows an intense veracity in competition. Her ability to inspire and cheer on her older peers during games shows her ability to be a team player. She is also a member of the WSHS Hunny Bears dance team and has always managed to keep her grades a priority while keeping her extracurricular activities balanced in her daily life. Ms. Geist would be an excellent addition to your Youth Council. She has pursued and managed a multifaceted educational and extracurricular foundation. W mean being a leader in name but being a good example to her fellow peers. If you need any more information, please feel free to email me at brevoodz@scps.k12.fl.us.
