Danielle,
The Compliant Review Board, while still a board subject to the Sunshine Law, is different from the City's other
boards. As you know, this Board considers employment issues related to specific employees, not to the City on
the whole. While all of the documents related to the Complaint Review Board meeting are considered public
records open for inspection and copying upon request, given the sensitive nature of the information contained in
much of the record, you may not want to post the entire record on Laser fiche. The agenda and minutes of the
meeting are fine to post, but it is probably best to keep the detailed exhibits on file in the office of the City Clerk in
the event a public records request to view or copy those records is submitted.
At a minimum, please ensure that a copy of the entire record from the meeting, including agenda, minutes and
exhibits, are included in the employee's personnel file.
Whether to post the entire record is a judgment call -- there's no applicable public records exemption to prevent
the City from posting the information; however, the City should consider the unique and sensitive nature of the
Board (and that it likely won't meet again now that the F.D. has consolidated with the County).

Subject: Complaint Review Board
Kate,
Hope all is well with you. I need some clarification on the Complaint Review Board. Do we scan
in the Agenda, Minutes and Exhibits that correspond to the Complaint Review Board Meeting
into Laserfiche for the public to see, which is consistent with what we do with the rest of our
other Boards?
Please advise.
Thanks,
