I am in receipt of your letter dated March 7, 2008. Indeed, the City of Winter
Springs has been granted additional recreation and conservation lands located on the
Tuscawilla Country Club property. These dedications are in furtherance of the Third
Amendment to Settlement Agreement affecting the Tuscawilla Country Club property.
The original Settlement Agreement defined two parcels of land (parcel 7 and parcel
8) that were granted development rights for the future construction of single family homes.
The City negotiated an amendment to that Settlement Agreement recently and the owners
of the Tuscawilla Country Club agreed to dedicate a conservation area over parcel 8. In
addition, the owners agreed to reclassify two portions of parcel 7 from development area
to golf course property. Reclassifying the property to golf course property now requires
that said area only be used for country club purposes including recreation.
In furtherance of your public records request, please find an exhibit from the Third
Amendment to Settlement Agreement depicting the parcel 7 areas that have been
reclassified from development area to golf course property. In addition, I have enclosed
another exhibit to the Third Amendment to Settlement Agreement which depicts parcel 8
and two other areas just outside parcel 8 which have been placed in conservation. Some
portions of parcel 8 shall remain wooded areas. I included the wooded area depictions as
well.
