HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-06-2007 Public Records RequestPage 1 of 1 Andrea Lorenzo-luaces From: Anthony Garganese [agarganese@orlandolaw.net] Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2007 9:25 AM To: Andrea Lorenzo-luaces; Joan Brown Cc: Dan Kerr Subject: Public Records Request Andrea, with respect to Joan's inquiry yesterday, police arrest and crime reports are public records and open for inspection and/or copying, unless they are exempt from disclosure as part of an active criminal investigation. Therefore, the City should be able to provide the public records requested on January 31, 2007 related to "incident reports of all bank, thrift, and credit union robberies that occurred in the City between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2006," provided such records exist. In addition, the City should impose a public records fee per the City's policy for any copying and staff research time. I trust this answers your inquiry. I anticipate that the Chief will comply with the request within a reasonable period of time in line with all the other priorities for his department. Please call if you have any further questions.
