The purpose of this letter is to update the status of your public
records request.
Enclosed is correspondence 1' received from Mr. Anthony Garganese,
City Attorney. Mr. Garganese also enclosed a copy of an
appraisal.
At this point, it does not appear that further mediation would be
helpful. As you know, the Public Records Law requires that an
agency provide access to nonexempt documents but it does not
require an agency to answer questions or explain its actions.
Thus, the city would not be required under the Public Records Law
to respond to your allegation that the city has failed to comply
with legal requirements relating to appraisals. All the Public
Records Law requires is that the city forward copies of documents
which are responsive to public records requests.
