HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2018-03 Terminating the Declaration of Civil EmergencyNOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City Commission previously adopted Resolution No. 2017-11 declaring a state of emergency related to Hurricane Inna; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to terminate the state of emergency because it is no longer necessary for the City to exercise emergency powers to address the aftermath of Hurricane Irma; and WHEREAS, this Resolution is in the best interests of the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Winter Springs. SECTION 1. AUTHORITY FOR THIS RESOLUTION. This Resolution is adopted pursuant to Section 2-255 of the Winter Springs City Code and Section 252.38, Florida Statutes. SECTION 2. TERMINATION OF DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY. The City Commission hereby terminates the civil emergency declaration established pursuant to Resolution No. 2017-11, and the City shall resume normal operations upon the effective date of this Resolution. All prior actions taken by the City Commission and City Manager in furtherance of the City's emergency powers under Resolution No. 2017-11 are hereby ratified and affirmed. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
