The total capital cost for vehicles, patrol package and vehicle markings is $306,083. SYNOPSIS: The Police Department requests to purchase eight (8) new patrol fleet vehicles from Prestige Ford at the State contract price of $28,376 per vehicle. The fully - loaded proposed capital expenditure for the vehicles with installed patrol package from Public Safety USA and graphics is $306,083. CONSIDERATIONS: The Finance department conducted a thorough evaluation of the Police department fleet. Many factors were considered such as vehicle age, current mileage, average annual mileage, purpose, fuel economy, service cost/history, residual value, etc.. These new vehicles will replace thirteen (13) current fleet vehicles per the replacement schedule created after a comprehensive research on vehicle viability and service life. Prestige Ford which is a local dealership is authorized to sell the units at the approved State contract price (Contract #25-00000-18-1). Prestige Ford has the units in stock for immediate delivery which offers marginal turn -around time to equip the vehicles and put them in service. No delivery fees will be incurred since the pick up is local. The unit price for the 2018 Ford Interceptor SUV is $28,376 for a total purchase price of $227,008. Consent 301 PAGE 1 OF 2 - January 28, 2019 Three quotes for the full -cage utility patrol package were solicited and obtained. Based on low quote and favorable past experience the selected vendor is Public Safety USA. The total cost of installed equipment per vehicle is $9,384.35 for a total cost of $75,075. The City's vehicle marking design costs approximately $500 per vehicle bringing the total capital outlay to $306,083. Proceeds from the disposition are conservatively estimated at $35K. FISCAL IMPACT: The funding source for the purchase of these police Ford Interceptor vehicles and related emergency equipment is the FY 2019 vehicle budget ($120K) and realized savings from FY2019 personnel vacancies. Taking into consideration anticipated proceeds of $35K results in a net cost outlay of $271,083. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information.
