Unapproved Copy Of The Wednesday, October 17, 2018 Tuscawilla Lighting And Beautification District Advisory Committee Regular Meeting Minutes (4 Pages) The Regular Meeting of Wednesday, October 17, 2018 of the Tuseawilla Lighting and Beautification District Advisory Committee was called to Order by Chairperson Tom Vagnini at 5:18 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of the Municipal Building (City Hall, 1126 East State Road 434, Winter Springs, Florida 32708). Community Development Department — Urban Beautification Division The Community Development Department Requests That The Tuscawilla Lighting And Beautification District Advisory Committee Receive And Discuss Budgetary Information Including The Year -To -Date Expense Report For Fiscal Year 2018. Mr. Brian Fields, Director, Community Development Department, reviewed the year-to-date expense report pointing out expenditures for legal services, fountain repairs, and street lights. Mr. Fields noted, "No m4ior outliers." Committee: Member Terri Bivona remarked, "It looks good!" Brief comments. REGULAR 501, Community Development Department— Urban Beautification Division The Community Development Department Requests That The Tuscawilla Lighting And Beautification District Advisory Committee Receive And Discuss Information Regarding Landscaping Maintenance And Improvements At Various Locations In The District. Ms. Jennifer Hitchcock, City Arborist and Urban Beautification Coordinator, Community Development Department, introduced the Agenda Item and referenced a PowerPoint containing information related to completed projects including trip-u-ning along Winter Springs Boulevard, flagpole repairs, and a flower change out. Photographs were shown followed by comments by Ms. Hitchcock. Discussion followed on plant material, entrance monuments, dying cypress trees, plant material encroaching on residential property, and BrightView services. Ms. Hitchcock continued with her presentation and reviewed recent enhancements completed throughout the Tuscawilla Lighting and Beautification District Advisory Committee. Discussion followed on an uprooted tree, dead plant material, and debris surrounding the medians. Continuing with her presentation, Ms. Hitchcock reviewed recent landscape updates throughout the Tuscawilla Lighting and Beautification District followed by brief discussion. Comments followed on the beautification of Winter Springs Boulevard at the city limits of the City of Oviedo, Related, Ms. Hitchcock noted, "They're trying to get it right." Community Development Department — Urban Beautification Division The Community Development Department Requests That The Tuscawilla Lighting And Beautification District Advisory Committee Receive And Discuss Information Regarding Fountains Maintenance And Improvements. Mr. Fields gave some inforination about the Agenda Item and reviewed the current lighting in the basin of the entrance fountains. Continuing, Mr. Fields expanded and discussed costs to transition from high voltage to low voltage lighting and the fountain pumps. Brief discussion followed. Chairperson 11agnini opened "Public InIna " Mr. Ted Johnson, 11071 Peasant Circle, lVinter Springs: commented on an area behind the entrance fountains and the fences leading up to the entrance of Tuscawilla at Winter Springs Boulevard. Remarks followed on Code Enforcement looking at the fences in disrepair. Chairperson Vagnini closed "Public Input ".
