Mr, Chris Caldwell, Director, Parks and lZecreation Department, expressed his thanks to the Con-irnittee Members for serving on the Committee. Mr. Caldwell then gave all overview of the project updates completed at Sam Smith Park. Chairperson Nussbaum inquired about the restrooln that was installed. Mr. Caldwell noted that it was a prefabricated unit, and that there were some delays on the manufacturers part due to permitting, but overall it was well received. Additional comments followed. Next, Mr. Caldwell commented on Trotwood Park's large pavilion and stated, "We are waiting on final design to bring that — before the City Commission for approval on February 26t"." Brief comments ensued on the design of the pavilion. Mr. Caldwell then gave an overview on the projects completed at Moss Park and noted that Moss Park was finished and moving forward Staff would be implementing a regular maintenance schedule at the Park. Lastly, Mr. Caldwell then stated that Toreaso Park would be the Park that was the focus for the next three (3) years, Mr. Caldwell then gave a brief timeline of the construction aspects for Torcaso Park. Committee Member Bob Osborne asked Mr, Caldwell about the time limit for the grant that was issued to Torcaso Park. Mr. Caldwell stated, "That was the Land Water Conservation Fund, and it's a State Grant awarded, We have still two (2) years lett on that." Parks And RecreationAdvisory The Parks And Recreation Department Wishes 1`t Recreati Advisorp Committee About The Upcoming Winter Ceremony On February 17,2018 Mr. Caldwell extended an Invitation to the Committee Members to come out to the upcoming; Minter Springs lube Ruth Opening Day event. Chairperson Nussbaum highly recommended and encouraged his fellow Committee Members to attend the event. REGULAR 504. Parks And Recreation Advisory Committee The Parks And Recreation Department Requests The Parks And Recreation Advisory Committee Discuss The Issue Of Sped Control In The Senior~ Center Parking Lot. This.Agenda Item began with Mr. Caldwell referencing an inquiry that Committee Member Osborne had about speed control in the Senior- Center parking, lot. Mr. Caldwell referenced Ordinance 2012-02 and noted that it permitted speed control regulation. Next, Mr. Caldwell talked about speed control devices and ideas that could possibly help control the speed at the Senior Center, Mr. Caldwell then stated that for right now, with help from the Police Department and the Public Works Department, the first steps were going to be to find the right location to put up speed lirnit signs along with painting arrows on the concreate to help with directing traffic.. Committee Member Arsenio Calle inquired about speed bumpS or speed signs, To which Mr. Caldwell commented both were efficient, it jList depends on the area where they were used. Brief comments ensued on speed bumps, speed limit signs, and data showing any accidents inside parks. 600® REPORTS Committee Member Jaynes Van ICleunen asked about information regarding a prior inquiry about a garden in front of the Senior Center to which Mr. Caldwell answered that he would bring that information back to the Committee Members at the next rneeting. Assistant to the City Clerk Jessica Wright -Burnham noted that the neat Darks and Recreation Advisory Committee Regular Meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
