The Utility/Public Works Department requests that the City Commission approve
Resolution Number 2018-10 recognizing the retirement and 30 years of dedicated service of
Public Works Department employee Bruce Schneider.
SYNOPSIS:
The City Commission is very appreciative of all the employees who faithfully serve the
citizens and City Commission of Winter Springs. For long -serving employees, the City
Commission has expressed their interest in presenting such employees with a Resolution at
a City Commission meeting.
In such situations, a Resolution is submitted to the City Commission on the Consent
Agenda for approval. Upon approval by the City Commission, the applicable employee is
invited to attend a future City Commission meeting when during "Awards and
Presentations", the employee will be presented with a Resolution that has been approved by
the City Commission.
Resolution Number 2018-10 which recognizes the service and retirement of Public Works
Department employee Bruce Schneider is being provided for the City Commission to
review and hopefully approve.
CONSIDERATIONS:
Bruce joined the City of Winter Springs Public Works Department as a Maintenance
Worker on August 4, 1988. He also served as a Light Equipment Operator and Sign
Maintenance Technician before his final promotion in 2012 as a Maintenance Mechanic.

During his tenure, Bruce obtained his Class B Commercial Driver's License, Advanced
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification, and Level 3 Signs & Markings Specialist
Certification. Bruce collaborated closely with the Police and Parks & Recreation
Departments in organizing and implementing MOT for all City special events. Bruce also
assisted with Hurricane staffing during the 2004/2005 season and more recently with
Hurricanes Matthew and Irma.
Resolution 2018-10 is being submitted as a Consent Agenda Item for City Commission
approval.
Once this Resolution has been approved, Bruce Schneider will attend an upcoming City
Commission meeting, when under "Awards and Presentations", Resolution 2018-10 will be
presented to Bruce recognizing his 30 years of valued service to the City of Winter Springs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact if Resolution Number 2018-10 is approved.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and
the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at six (6) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2018-10 in honor
of employee Bruce Schneider for his 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Winter
Springs.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER
SPRINGS, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING BRUCE SCHNEIDER FOR HIS 30
YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF
WINTER SPRINGS; AND EXPRESSING OUR APPRECIATION ON BEHALF
OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
INHEREAS, BRUCE SCHNEIDER has provided the residents of Winter Springs with 30 years of dedicated
and distinguished service in the Winter Springs Public Works Department; and
'WHEREAS, BRUCE SCHNEIDER joined the City of Winter Springs on August 41h, 1988 as a Maintenance
Worker. He also served as a Light Equipment Operator and Sign Maintenance Technician before his final promotion in
2012 as a Maintenance Mechanic; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs,
Florida as follows:
SECTION I — Upon the occasion of BRUCE SCHNEIDEWS retirement, the Mayor and Commission, City
Manager, and Staff of the City of Winter Springs wish to recognize and honor him for his distinguished service to the
residents of Winter Springs through his employment in the Winter Springs Public Works Department.
SECTION II — That this Resolution commending the services of BRUCE SCHNEIDER be recorded upon the
official Public Records and Minutes of this City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida.
SECTION III — That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to BRUCE SCHNEIDER with our sincerest
thanks for his many contributions.
