REQUEST:
The Utility Department wishes to inform the City Commission of the potable and reclaimed
water use for calendar year 2017.
SYNOPSIS:
The purpose of this agenda item is to provide the City Commission with data on potable and
reclaimed water use for calendar year 2017.
CONSIDERATIONS:
Potable Water:
In 2017, the City produced 1,351,256,000 gallons of potable water, which is a 1.3%
increase from 2016. We received 56 inches of rainfall in 2017; approximately the same as
in 2016. The annual water use in 2017 was 17% below the St. Johns River Water
Management District Consumptive Use Permit allowance of 1,627,900,000 gallons. Factors
contributing to the increased water demand may include additional residential development
and an increase in existing home sales.
