REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department requests the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Committee discuss the upcoming Community Events and the 2018 Community Events
Calendar.
CONSIDERATIONS:

The Veterans Day Tribute is on November 11 starting at 6 pm at the Winter Springs
Veterans and Military Service Memorial. The Tribute is in partnership with the Rotary
Club of Winter Springs and brings the community together to honor those who have served
and are currently serving in the military.

The Winter Wonderland event is on December 2 from 4:30-9:00pm. This event includes
thth
the 36 annual Holiday Parade and the 14 annual Christmas Tree Lighting. The event
also includes live local entertainment, kid’s area, and pictures with Santa.
The proposed 2018 Community Events Calendar lists all the events in Winter Springs for
the upcoming year.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks and Recreation Department recommends that the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Committee discuss the upcoming Community Events.
