REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department requests the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Committee discuss the upcoming Community Events.
CONSIDERATIONS:

The Hometown Harvest is on November 5 from 5-9pm. This event is a fall
festival which includes hayrides, pumpkin painting, hay play area, and live
entertainment. The event also includes the Winter Springs Police Department’s
National Night Out where you can meet our police officers and see the vehicles
they use to keep us safe.

The Veteran’s Day Tribute is on November 11 starting at 6pm at the Winter
Springs Veteran’s and Military Service Memorial. The Tribute is in partnership
with the Rotary Club of Winter Springs and brings the community together to
honor those who have served and are currently serving in the military.

The Winter Wonderland event is on December 3 from 5-9pm. This event includes

the 35 annual Holiday Parade and the 13 annual Christmas Tree Lighting. The
event also includes live local entertainment, kids area, and pictures with Santa.

The Central Florida Scottish Highlands Games is on January 14 from 8am-10pm
th
and January 15 from 9am-6pm. This event allows you to immerse yourself in the
unique culture and history of Scotland. During the event you can see highlands
dancing, athletics, border collies, traditional Scottish food, bagpipes, and more.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks and Recreation Department is recommending that the Parks and
Recreation Advisory Committee consider and discuss the upcoming Community
Events.

Join the Scottish - American Society of
Central Florida and The City of Winter
Springs for the 39th annual Scottish Highland Games! The
Central Florida Scottish Highland Games allow you to im-
merse yourself in the unique culture and history of
Scotland. During this two day festival, area Scottish clans
and societies gather at Central Winds Park to compete in
athletic events, highland dancing and Piping to celebrate
their rich heritage. Check out the live entertainment and
